A winding mile above the town of Sewickley, the first 18-hole golf course in Western Pennsylvania can be found. The site is Allegheny Country Club, which was originally designed in 1902 by world-renowned architect Donald Ross. Through the years it has hosted several prestigious golf tournaments such as the 1954 US Women's Amateur, the 1990 US Women's Mid-Am Championship and the 2001 US Women's Senior Amateur. Allegheny Country Club has just completed a $1.25 million dollar renovation to the driving range, bunkers and tees. Renovations have also included the Clubhouse, locker rooms and terrace.
